About me

 Bonjour, Coucou, Hello,

I'm Sophie, a mother of two amazing boys and a fulfilled wife.

After a very intense year, I needed to reconnect with myself. I finally listened to that small voice within, that desire and need to create, present since my youngest age. I took the plunge and joined a workshop in November 2023.

Painting every week has been a revelation: experimenting, playing with colours, textures, letting the unexpected and my imagination run wild. Fully enjoying these timeless moments.

One day, after a medical appointment, everything began to swirl in my head. Suddenly, an urgency arose: create, move forward. A trigger. The one of all possibilities. I feel it, it's now, and it’s through painting. It comes from within. To follow this momentum, I had to adapt my way of creating. So, I embraced new ways of painting and creating, and I particularly love them.

I allow myself to dream and to envision. I take initiatives I would never have taken before, as putting myself forward is not in my nature. But here, it's not me I need to put forward, but my creations, and that suits me just fine.

Thank you for following me on this adventure!

I can’t wait to share more of my creations with you!

See you soon,

Sophie

My Artistic Approach

“Avoidance or escape from the brush.”

I avoid using brushes. Not by aesthetic choice, but because my hand trembles.

So, I found other ways to paint and create, and I particularly enjoy them. Rather than fighting against my tremors, I learn every day to work around them, to let go a little more, and to accept imperfection. My paintings were born from this adaptation, from a different way of doing things. I let the paint live differently: by laying it down, removing it, letting it flow and glide, playing with the material rather than tracing it. More than just a gesture, it’s a language.

In my work, colour, texture, and movement occupy a central place. My canvases are always abstract, sometimes light and subtle, other times lively and dynamic.

I like to think that each canvas is an invitation to explore, to feel, and to discover. As Victor Hugo so aptly said:

"It doesn’t matter what the meaning is, as long as there is one.”

My Vision

My hypersensitive soul picks up nuances that others do not perceive.

My ever-active mind is an endless studio where a thousand ideas are born to be explored. My thoughts are constantly seeking new ways to express themselves.

For me, creating is never fixed — it’s a constant dialogue between the initial idea and what it becomes under my hands. It’s a dance between control and letting go, between dream and reality. The transition from imagination to reality is a journey where the unexpected takes the lead.

What I create is never exactly what I had imagined, but each surprise brings a richness I hadn’t anticipated.
